Iyama Yuta wins his first Oza title, defeating the defending title holder, Cho U by 3-0. Iyama Yuta has become the youngest professional go player ever to win five of seven major titles (Kisei, Meijin, Honinbo, Tengen, Oza, Gosei and Judan). He gets five crowns: Honinbo, Tengen, Oza, Gosei and Judan at the age of 23.
The third game of the 60th Oza title match was played in Kobe on 22 October 2012. Taking white, Iyama won by resignation.
Cho U could not win his fifth consecutive Oza title to get honorary Oza.

Game 1 (25 Oct): Iyama(W) won by 7.5 points
Game 2 (27 Oct): Iyama(B) won by resignation
Game 3 (22 Nov): Iyama(W) won by resignation
Yamashita Keigo wins his second consecutive Meijin title.
Yamashita and Hane Naoki 9p making his first Meijin title challenge, played for the final game of The 37th Meijin title match in Yamanashi on 12 and 13 November 2012. Yamashita (W) defeats Hane by resignation and defends the title by 4-3.
Hane could not win his first Meijin title.

Game 2 (20, 21 Sep): Hane (W) won by 5.5 points
Game 3 (27, 28 Sep): Hane (B) won by resignation
Game 4 (10, 11 Oct): Yamashita (B) won by resignation
Game 5 (17, 18 Oct): Yamashita (W) won by resignation
Game 6 (31 Oct, 1 Nov): Hane(W) won by resignation
Game 7 (12, 13 Nov): Yamashita (W) won by resignation
Iyama Yuta becomes the challenger to Cho U for Kisei title. In the play-off to decide the challenger to Cho U, held at the Nihon Ki-in Osaka branch on 8 November 2012, Iyama (W) defeats Takao Shinji 9p by 0.5 point after 318 moves.
He will play for Kisei title match for his second time.
Iyama made his first challenge for Kisei title match in 2010 and the defending champion Cho U defeated him by 4-2.
The first game of the 37th Kisei title match will be played on 17 January 2013 in Okinawa.
The Nihon Ki-in and University of Electro-Communications signed strategic partnership on June 2012 to contribute the developments of go community, information and communication technology and cognitive science through advancements of computer go.
We are pleased to announce that a professional and computer programs will play for an official game in March 2013. It will be the first collaboration event after above partnership was made and the official match is to be played for five years at least.
